Time to dust off the dancing shoes!
My work and that of seven of my students achieved finalist status for the Society of Professional Journalists’ Mark of Excellence Awards. The actual place awarded will be announced April 13-14, 2007, at the regional award’s ceremony in St. Louis, MO. The finalists are:
"Seniors dance to their health"
"Drought affects Kansans"
"Evolution of KU cheerleading"
The awards will be presented during the Mark of Excellence Luncheon at the upcoming spring conference, April 13-14, 2007, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Even though apparently my last comment on this Web site did not get approved (by you!), I am gonna try again and say congratulations to you and all the journalists! I will keep my fingers crossed for those Pulitzers!

Congrats! I’d like to think the nomination came from my tireless work on the Pothole story a few weeks back…
Glad to see you have AHWOSG on your bookshelf as well…that Dave Eggers is a talented dude. “What is the What” is worth checking out as well–just finishing that one up.
