NBC, why didn’t we see this on the air?
Beijing – Five pro-Tibet activists unfurled a banner spelling out “Free Tibet” in English and Chinese in bright blue LED “throwie” lights in Beijing’s Olympic Park tonight. The five were detained by security personnel after displaying the banner for about 20 seconds at 11:48 pm August 19th.
So, NBC was willing to show us CGI imagery that, we are told, mimicked reality, but wouldn’t dare offend the host nation by showing the image above, which is not doctored. I know these were sports “reporters”, but so much for journalistic integrity. Tim Russert would have mentioned this.
