…I do not want you to follow me or anyone else; if you are looking for a Moses to lead you out of this capitalist wilderness, you will stay right where you are. I would not lead you into the promised land if I could, because if I led you in, some one else would lead you out. You must use your heads as well as your hands, and get yourself out of your present condition.Eugene V. Debs

How quickly we sour on hope!
I’m inclined to give ‘em a little breathing room to update the site…I’ve read elsewhere that his transition team has the “strictest ethics rules ever applied.” Just as that may be a slight exaggeration, I think it may be a bit much to think he’s sold out this quickly.
After all, Mornin’ Joe Scarborough said he’s a “true free agent” who is less beholden to corporate interests than anyone before him…and if Mornin’ Joe is wrong, I don’t want to be right. (I actually think he’s a moron, but he may be right here).

Nathan,
I remain hopeful and I haven’t even looked into buying torches or pitchforks yet. I’m just not holding my breath. While it is true that he is the least “beholden,” that doesn’t mean he isn’t inclined to side with corporate interests instinctively. As I keep saying, just keep your eyes open and your mind vigilant. Thanks for the comment!
